Portland experienced a summer heat wave this past weekend; I’m talking 80 degrees & solid blue sky. When this happens, Portland feels like a different city. I pulled out my summer wear, slathered on sunscreen & enjoyed plenty cocktails on more than one patio. Not to mention, multiple leisurely walks. And a cat nap in the park. My computer was not in sight for 3 days and it was a glorious feeling. It truly felt like a mini vacation. I was so blinded by the sun, I nearly forgot reality existed; and that, my friends, is an amazing feeling. Until summer truly does roll around, I’ll dive into these luscious blue & sun drenched photos instead.
Pinching myself for not splurging on this Groupon Getaway: 7 nights, $399. What was I thinking?!
Clearly I can not surf without this Louis Vuitton surf board. Duh.
Christian Chaize is one of my all-time favorite photographers. I want to live in this photo. Instead, it can live in my house & I’ll just take a mental breather when looking at it.
Fasano hotel Rio De Janeiro. Not a screaming deal like the Groupon getaway, but that’s irrelevant.
Girly blue dress with a leopard print belt & an arm party. Perfect summer attire.
Step out & just breathe. What I did all weekend.
I’ll take this infinity pool & view any day.
The classic maxi dress screams relaxed summer and I am ready for a relaxed summer! Spring is itching to come alive here in Portland and I am trying to wait patiently for this to occur. In the interim, I’m prepping for a refreshed spring wardrobe by pretending I will need these maxi dresses ASAP. I’ve invested in a few in the past, but plan on finding a few more for the upcoming warmer months. This style is breezy, comfy and chic although I tend to have difficulty walking in them…everyone does, right? Alas, beauty is pain and my coordination could use some improvement anyways.

Maybe it’s the cold, dreary Portland weather or maybe it’s that March spring fever, but lately I have been craving some waaaaaarm sunshine. I’m not possibly alone on this, am I? We’re in the midst of switching seasons & the simple smell of freshly cut grass can put a spring in my step right now.
A favorite past-time of mine is lounging outside on a long, lazy summer night with friends & family nearby. You know what else is great about summer? Margaritas. Wait, those are great year-round. Either way, I am itching for summer & have found a few summer essentials to satisfy my crave.
*Should I be concerned about the amount of joy those vintage plastic cups & that hand-blown glass pitcher bring me? Because, boy do I smile every time I use them both. It’s the simple things in life, right?
